Honeybee Gardens WaterColors- Vintage Merlot

As-Salaam Alaikum,

I received my Honey Bee Gardens water-based polish in the mail not too long ago and I was was extremely excited. This was the first time I've tried a water-based polish and I've heard several good things.

Application- The polish was fairly easy to apply.  It was a little streaky, but the more coats I applied the more even to polish looked on the nails. I used 3 coats on each nail.

Smell- The company claims that it's 'nearly odorless' I don't know what their definition of 'nearly' is but it has a smell. True, the smell doesn't light up the whole room as regular nails polish does. You do smell it when you are painting your nails and when the polish dries. I can even smell it faintly when I've washed my hands several times throughout the day since I removed it. The smell reminds me of paint. I recently bought my son this paint set and it smells exactly like the paint. Slightly bitter smell. I do not like it at all.

I wanted to see what it looked like with a top coat. I used Seche Vite, which is probably the complete opposite of this polish. but it was all I had and it turned out just beautiful.
With Seche Vite Top Coat
Removal- I didn't find the removal of this polish that difficult at all. It came with a polish remover, which is Acetone free. It took a little longer that regular nail polish remover but nothing overwhelmingly too challenging. The remover left an almost oily residue on my hands that I wasn't too keen on, but a little soap and water fixed that right up. This remover also removed the polish with the Seche Vite Top Coat.

I thought it was strange the pamphlet says the polish cant be removed with regular nails polish remover but I tried it and it can. Maybe it's not recommended, who knows--but I shall rebel!

I'm very happy with this polish, I think I will be purchasing more in the future. I'll even test out their makeup, I have my eye on their Party Girl Eye Shadow Palette.

Another Leopart Print

As-Salaam Alaikum,
I love doing leopard print designs. It's one of the easiest and in my opinion looks great. And I feel it looks even better over glitter.

I used SinfulColors All About You as the base, and SinfulColors Black on Black for the spots. With a Seche Vite Top Coat. I am in love.

Rally Pretty Pink Polka Dots

As-Salaam Alaikum,

This look was inspired by Sophie from My Awesome Beauty. I loved how she paired OPI Rally Pretty Pink with the taupe colour. And considering OPI's RPP is my all time favorite color I decided to redo the look.
I chose to pair it with China Glaze Sea Spray because I think greys and pinks look lovely together. Along with NYC Matte me Crazy Top Coat

I love the shimmery dots..So pretty.

L.A Colors- Atomic

As-Salaam Alaikum,
I've been on the hunt for perfect teal cyan color for a while now. I spotted L.A Colors Atomic in Dollar General and grabbed it. It looked perfect in the store, right amount of green and right amount of blue. But when I got home the color was off, not the color I was looking for at all.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very pretty teal, but leaning more on green side and I wanted more blue. The color pay off is wonderful though, 3 coats and it's quite opaque. Especially with it being semi jelly like. Oh and it glows under black light, I have not tested that out but I'll take their word for it. I mean for $1 you get a great polish that glows. You can't beat that.
I decided to mix things up a notch and add a matte top coat and  and some polka dots on the accent nail.

Ulta Vintage Violet + Sally Hansen Strobe Light

As-Salaam Alaikum,
Here's Ulta Vintage Violet paired with Sally Hansen Strobe Light.

Vintage Violet is a delicate dusty pale purple creme base with pink undertones. It almost looks more pink than purple.  It went on perfectly with 2 coats. I always underestimate Ulta polishes but when you get your hands one ones like this, you realize the are wonderful.

I think Strobe Light adds a pretty affect. I pick up Strobe Light when OPI Katy Perry Collection came out. I was unable to get my hands on Teenage Dream, and I though it was the closest match. Unfortunately it is not quite a dupe, but it still is very pretty. With small pink glitter and larger halo glitter chunks.

Zoya- Myrta

As-Salaam Alaikum,

I was in Ulta the other day and they has a bunch of polishes for sale. I picked up a few and Zoya Mytra was one of them. What first struck me was how beautiful the color was. It's a gorgeous orange-coral, with a bit of red undertones. There's also gold and silver shimmer mixed in there which adds to the foil-ish finish.

I think it looks great with my skin tone. Application is great, 2 coats is all you need. This really is a beautiful shade. I can not stop staring at it.
