Honeybee Gardens WaterColors- Vintage Merlot

As-Salaam Alaikum,

I received my Honey Bee Gardens water-based polish in the mail not too long ago and I was was extremely excited. This was the first time I've tried a water-based polish and I've heard several good things.

Application- The polish was fairly easy to apply.  It was a little streaky, but the more coats I applied the more even to polish looked on the nails. I used 3 coats on each nail.

Smell- The company claims that it's 'nearly odorless' I don't know what their definition of 'nearly' is but it has a smell. True, the smell doesn't light up the whole room as regular nails polish does. You do smell it when you are painting your nails and when the polish dries. I can even smell it faintly when I've washed my hands several times throughout the day since I removed it. The smell reminds me of paint. I recently bought my son this paint set and it smells exactly like the paint. Slightly bitter smell. I do not like it at all.

I wanted to see what it looked like with a top coat. I used Seche Vite, which is probably the complete opposite of this polish. but it was all I had and it turned out just beautiful.

Removal- I didn't find the removal of this polish that difficult at all. It came with a polish remover, which is Acetone free. It took a little longer that regular nail polish remover but nothing overwhelmingly too challenging. The remover left an almost oily residue on my hands that I wasn't too keen on, but a little soap and water fixed that right up. This remover also removed the polish with the Seche Vite Top Coat.

I thought it was strange the pamphlet says the polish cant be removed with regular nails polish remover but I tried it and it can. Maybe it's not recommended, who knows--but I shall rebel!

I'm very happy with this polish, I think I will be purchasing more in the future. I'll even test out their makeup, I have my eye on their Party Girl Eye Shadow Palette.
