Abstract Spatter

As-Salaam Alaikum,

I decided to so my nails after what seemed like a long hiatus. I wanted something that was easy, yet pretty. This is what I decided on.
Basically I just spatter/sponged on the color. It very abstract. Very artsy.
Colors used were, Essie Sand Tropez as the base color. Wet n Wild Bubblegum Pop, Nina Ultra Pro Punki Purple, LA Colors Atomic, and lastly Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet.
I really love how these turned out.

Sugar n' Spice VoxBox

As-Salaam Alaikum,
I received my new VoxBox from Influenster in the mail the other day. It's called the Sugar 'N Spice VoxBox.

I'm most excited about the Vaseline Spray & Go moisturizer and the Colgate Optic White line. I will be doing a before and after on my other blog, hijabiflair.blogspot.com so stay tuned for that.

I hope and pray that the next box I receive contains nail polish.

Matte Cartoon Nails

As-Salaam Alaikum,
So I've been dying to try this nail design for a while now. Yesterday I finally got around to doing it. I must say that it came out pretty good, especially for a first attempt.

Sally Hansen- Pacific Blue, Sinful Colors- Black on Black and Snow Me White were the colors I used, along with my trusty Matte Top Coat from NYC. I think the Matte top coat added a nice dimension to it. When I was glossy it didn't look as realistic. Even though it's supposed to be an "unrealistic" cartoon design.
Please ignore the stained nails...That's what I get when I use a bast coat. I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I do.

Please don't forget to leave a comment if you like or don't like what you see. Comments good or not so good are always welcome.

Honeybee Gardens WaterColors- Vintage Merlot

As-Salaam Alaikum,

I received my Honey Bee Gardens water-based polish in the mail not too long ago and I was was extremely excited. This was the first time I've tried a water-based polish and I've heard several good things.

Application- The polish was fairly easy to apply.  It was a little streaky, but the more coats I applied the more even to polish looked on the nails. I used 3 coats on each nail.

Smell- The company claims that it's 'nearly odorless' I don't know what their definition of 'nearly' is but it has a smell. True, the smell doesn't light up the whole room as regular nails polish does. You do smell it when you are painting your nails and when the polish dries. I can even smell it faintly when I've washed my hands several times throughout the day since I removed it. The smell reminds me of paint. I recently bought my son this paint set and it smells exactly like the paint. Slightly bitter smell. I do not like it at all.

I wanted to see what it looked like with a top coat. I used Seche Vite, which is probably the complete opposite of this polish. but it was all I had and it turned out just beautiful.
With Seche Vite Top Coat
Removal- I didn't find the removal of this polish that difficult at all. It came with a polish remover, which is Acetone free. It took a little longer that regular nail polish remover but nothing overwhelmingly too challenging. The remover left an almost oily residue on my hands that I wasn't too keen on, but a little soap and water fixed that right up. This remover also removed the polish with the Seche Vite Top Coat.

I thought it was strange the pamphlet says the polish cant be removed with regular nails polish remover but I tried it and it can. Maybe it's not recommended, who knows--but I shall rebel!

I'm very happy with this polish, I think I will be purchasing more in the future. I'll even test out their makeup, I have my eye on their Party Girl Eye Shadow Palette.

Disclaimer: These items were sent to me for review. All thought are my own.

Another Leopart Print

As-Salaam Alaikum,
I love doing leopard print designs. It's one of the easiest and in my opinion looks great. And I feel it looks even better over glitter.

I used SinfulColors All About You as the base, and SinfulColors Black on Black for the spots. With a Seche Vite Top Coat. I am in love.

Rally Pretty Pink Polka Dots

As-Salaam Alaikum,

This look was inspired by Sophie from My Awesome Beauty. I loved how she paired OPI Rally Pretty Pink with the taupe colour. And considering OPI's RPP is my all time favorite color I decided to redo the look.
I chose to pair it with China Glaze Sea Spray because I think greys and pinks look lovely together. Along with NYC Matte me Crazy Top Coat

I love the shimmery dots..So pretty.
